DISCLAIMER

Last updated: October 2026

The information provided on ChameleonsCanada.com is intended to help our customers make informed decisions about the purchase, care, and keeping of reptiles. While we make every effort to provide accurate and useful information, reptile care requirements can vary depending on species, individual animals, environmental conditions, and other factors.

Product descriptions, care information, photographs, availability, shipping information, and other content on this website are provided in good faith and may be updated as new information becomes available.

Live Animals & Individual Variation

Reptiles are living animals, and no two individuals are exactly alike. Colour, pattern, size, temperament, and other characteristics may vary between animals and may also change as an animal grows or adapts to its environment.

When an animal is identified as “Available – Exact same animal,” the photographs are intended to show the individual being offered for sale. When an animal is identified as “Available – Similar to the image shown” or “For Pre-Order – Similar to the image shown,” photographs are representative and the animal you receive will not necessarily look exactly like the one pictured.

Ages, sizes, and sex are provided to the best of our knowledge and experience. Unless specifically stated otherwise, they should be considered reasonable estimates rather than guarantees.

Health, Care & Husbandry

Our care guides and other husbandry information are provided as general guidance based on our experience and available information. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified reptile veterinarian or other appropriate professional.

The health and well-being of a reptile depends on many factors, including enclosure setup, temperature, humidity, lighting, diet, supplementation, hydration, handling, stress, and ongoing care.

Once an animal is in the customer’s care, it is the customer’s responsibility to provide appropriate housing, husbandry, nutrition, and veterinary care when needed. If you are unsure about the health of an animal, we recommend consulting a veterinarian experienced with reptiles.

Shipping & Weather

Shipping live animals depends on suitable weather and transportation conditions. For the safety of the animal, Chameleons Canada may delay or reschedule a shipment when temperatures or other conditions are not considered safe.

During periods of very hot or cold weather, we may require or recommend delivery to an appropriate carrier hub rather than directly to a residential address. Customers are responsible for being available to receive or promptly collect their shipment as arranged.

Carrier delays, weather disruptions, and other circumstances outside our control can occasionally affect delivery times. We will work with the customer and the carrier when problems arise, with the animal’s safety as our priority.

Pre-Orders & Upcoming Imports

Animals offered for pre-order or as part of an upcoming import may not yet be in our possession when the order is placed. Photographs used for these listings may be representative of the species, locality, or type of animal expected and do not necessarily show the individual animal the customer will receive.

Import schedules and arrival dates are estimates and can change due to transportation, export or import procedures, weather, airline schedules, government requirements, or other circumstances outside our control.

We will provide updates when significant changes affect an order and will arrange pickup or shipping once the animal is available and ready to go to its new home.

Imported Animals

Some animals offered by Chameleons Canada are imported. We identify imported animals as clearly as practical and provide the information available to us about their origin and history.

Imported animals may differ from captive-bred animals in temperament, condition, age, previous care, and adjustment to captivity. We make reasonable efforts to assess animals in our care, but we cannot guarantee an animal’s complete history when that information is not available to us.

Customers purchasing an imported animal should understand that it may require additional patience, observation, and appropriate husbandry while adjusting to its new environment.

JANUARY SHIPMENT UPDATE

Dear Friends,
As I mentioned over the weekend, we are ready for our next shipment. However, I have decided to move the date to April.

The reason: The shipment has to do a stop before coming to Canada; the place where it transfers has an embargo right now due to cold weather. So they are moving our date to mid-February. As you know, this has been a colder than usual winter for us; the temperatures for mid-February in Canada will be way below zero. So I’m not willing to take any risk. I know we are all excited and anxious, but we have to be mindful of what’s best and play it safe.

It will happen in April at the latest rain or shine, guaranteed. But, of course, as soon as the weather shows some mercy and we have temperatures above zero, we’ll move ahead, so we could be getting it in March if the temperatures are proper.

Even if we got them next week as planned, I wouldn’t be able to ship to most of you due to the low temps in your provinces.
Thank you for your support and understanding. I’m sure most of you will agree with me on my decision, and as always, it will be worth it.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me on FB chat, email or over the phone.
